  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sour cream and fresh dill for garnish




Ingredients:



Begin by placing a large pot on the stove over medium heat. Pour vegetable oil into the pot and let it heat up. When the oil becomes hot put the chopped onions in the pan. Cook and stir them until they turn translucent and slightly translucent in appearance.




Put the grated carrots in the utensil and fry for a few minutes till they become soft.




Once you've grated the beets add them to the pot with the other vegetables. Make sure to mix everything well. Cook the mixture for about 5 to 7 minutes while stirring occasionally. Due to this the beetroot starts releasing its juice and becomes soft.

To improve the taste adjust the seasoning to your liking. For that classic tangy flavor you can choose to add white vinegar or lemon juice. Don't forget to remove and dispose of the bay leaves after boiling. He has already put his flavor in the borscht.
